in my dreams, you come into my house, where you've never even been. you charm my parents and i'm getting out of the shower. i'm not ready for you. i go into the closet of my childhood room. the yellow paint inside. sift through the layers of my past, fluffy bridesmaids dresses and dried flowers and all the trappings of the good girl i was too scared not to be. i'm pulling things out of drawers and taking pricetags off but they keep changing and i don't have a thing to wear except this godawful ruffled red white and blue plaid dress. and by the time i come back you're gone.
