this is, after all, my second-favorite character from one of the all-time best 80s movies. my favorite character being nora. who i would be, if i wasn't so unbearably shy. and, of course, isn't that her point in the movie? other than romantic lead to the hero, i mean. all those 80s movies had one of those. this one just got to be a catalyst and partner in crime, too.

some of you are, i'm sure, thinking, "shy? beatpoetgrrl isn't shy. beatpoetgrrl is putting her life out there for everyone to see, and she's witty and dry and articulate (ok maybe i'm pushing it) and maybe a wee bit of an exhibitionist, considering that this is an online diary." but consider it, gentle reader: i'm anonymous. how much safer to spill one's guts as words floating in cyberspace than in a real flesh-and-blood forum! how little one risks!

not that i plan on purchasing a soapbox any time soon or anything. or a radio frequency, for that matter.
