they started the air strikes on "afghanistan terrorist sites." i don't know what to think. i never figured out what "justice" would be, and now i have to decide a whole lot more.

i've never liked the taliban. since i've heard of them, it's been in the context of human rights violations, especially for women. but how do you unseat the radicals without hurting the same people that they're already hurting? collateral damage sounds so clean and innocuous, doesn't it? but it means innocent victims, no matter what side.

and my brother's friend is a navy fighter pilot. i have no idea where he is, but i can't help wondering...this all scares the hell out of me.

oh god. help. how do we get through this?
