congratulations, you are entry number 100!

there are few things in the world nicer than freshly shaved legs and just-washed pajamas. i just thought i'd share that with everyone.

spent the day at the youth center, painting the young women's center. no one showed up again, so it was just me and the ghost. i think she's starting to get used to me; there's been a lot more noise lately.

about this ghost: she does not haunt the youth center per se; she came with the piano. i'm not sure where the piano came from; ward brought it in a U-haul along with a bunch of other old furniture. it does have a plaque saying it was at the 1938 world's fair. she's apparently young and female, likes music and hates the sound of the vacuum cleaner. the ghost is especially attached to ward, and has been heard to call his name and make banging noises when he's around. she's also fond of kathleen, our resident cellist. one day when i was singing old show tunes she came quite close.

mind you i'm not sure i believe in ghosts, on the other hand i'm not sure i disbelieve. the evidence for this particular manifestation grows larger by the day; one person has seen our ghost in the window next to the piano when she came by after-hours. then there are the strange noises, and ward swears she walked right through him once. today i was alone in the center, actually in the bathroom, and i almost-heard someone. have you ever almost-heard or almost-seen someone or something? as if it's just on the edge of consciousness but not quite there? i almost expected her to be standing there when i opened the door. she wasn't, but there was kathleen pulling into the parking lot.

i wonder if coming off the paxil is bringing my sixth-sense abilities back up to where they used to be? at any rate, i say hello and good-bye to the ghost, just to make sure.

dona nobis pacem, -beatpoetgrrl
