mr rogers is retiring after 33 years on the air. (can i mention that i can't even fathom doing something for 33 years in a row?!) in a lot of ways it's the end of an era...he took most of us on our first adventures, to the crayola factory or a farm or the fire station. and the land of make believe gave us the chance to believe in magic and kings and kittens who live in hollow trees. and it was as close as the nearest trolley line...he's just a kind man who loves children, and he let us all be a part of his life. i'm going to miss seeing him at random while i flip through channels. sometimes i still watched for a little while, to see if i could recapture the magic.
